Spiritual death is a grave issue that many people don't fully understand. Here are the symptoms, causes, imputation, and initiation. These will give you an easier understanding of the subject. You can ask a spiritual counsellor if you have any questions.
Symptoms
There are a number of signs that the soul is on its way to spiritual death. These could include recurring illnesses, unusual situations, thoughts of murder, suicide and abortion, as well a host of other signs. These symptoms can be accompanied with isolation. These symptoms are not a permanent condition, though, and they usually go away after a while.

Causes
Spiritual death is the process whereby a human being stops living in spirit realm. Before the Fall of man, he walked in the spirit realm together with his Creator. Adam was a "subject to faith", able to speak words into existence and walk as such. Adam was able to see perfectly at sunrise. However, he began to notice the destruction around him.
Imputation
Spiritual death is caused by Adam's original sin. Adam's original sin caused the sin nature to be inherited by all people. The result was spiritual deafness, which ruled over mankind from Adam to Moses. This article examines the doctrine of imputation in the Bible.
Imputation of original righteousness
When Paul speaks of the imputation of original righteousness as a spiritual death, he is answering a common objection about all of mankind's sin before the law. This objection stems from the belief that personal sin can't be imputationed when there isn't a law. Instead, he sees Adam's sin as the basis for the corrupt nature that the race has been condemned with.

Separation
Spiritual death is the condition in which the soul separates form God. There are two types. The first is called temporal separation. This occurs when we sin against God. It is a problem that affects Adam's descendants. The atonement can overcome this separation.
