There are many world religious traditions. In this article, we'll talk about Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, and Judaism. Each religion has its own beliefs and practices. This list will give an indication of the number of people who follow each one.

Islam

Islam is the second-largest religion, after Christianity, and it is also one of history's most influential. Although its roots date back to the 7th Century, it is far more recent than other major religions. It began during the time of the prophet Muhammad and is a monotheistic religion. According to the Quran, only one true God exists and its followers are required live in complete submission to Allah. Although they believe that nothing can happen to them without Allah's will, Muslims still believe in free will and are capable of achieving their goals.

Christianity

The majority of the world's people practice Christianity. With 2.3 billion followers, it is the most popular religion. Of these, about 246,000 are in the United States. This religion is considered one of the Abrahamic religions, along with Judaism and Islam. It began as a subset of Judaism, in ancient Israel. Later it spread to other parts of the world.

Hinduism

Hindus believe in the existence of one supreme being who rules over all things. They believe in the cyclical nature and concept of karma.

Judaism

Jewish religious tradition focuses on the idea of covenant between God and the Jewish people. Mount Sinai was the place where the God of Creation entered into a special relationship with the Jewish people. In return, God became the ultimate king for the Jewish people. They also agreed to follow God's laws. God also acknowledges the Jewish people to be his chosen people. Over the centuries, different types of Judaism emerged. However, one feature that remains constant is radical monotheism: the belief that the world is ruled by one divine intelligence and is intelligible. This mind manifests itself in the natural order and social history as well as revelation.

Sikhism

Sikhism doesn't condemn anyone to Hell but it believes in reincarnation, karma, and the possibility of reincarnation. It believes in God worshipping and praying for all humanity's prosperity. It also bans the consumption of intoxicating drinks and the eating of animal meat. Sikhs believe that only "jhatka," or one-stroke slaughter, is permissible.

Zoroastrianism

Zoroastrianism shares many similarities with Christianity. However, it differs significantly from the other monotheistic faiths. It does not emphasize the duality between good and evil like Christianity. However, dualism is not understood as an absolute. It believes that both good and bad are inseparable forces, and that God’s omnipotence only temporarily limits its power. The Zoroastrian view holds that the powers are co-equal, and therefore are equal in power.
