Monotheistic Vs Polytheistic Religion

what religion was queen elizabeth ii

When it comes to religion, the most popular views are monotheism & polytheism. They aren't all the same. Each religion has its strengths and weaknesses. One major difference is the way each views the world. Monotheism tends to be more peaceful and allows everyone to worship the same god. This helps to prevent conflicts between different civilizations.

Mythology

The main difference between monotheistic or polytheistic mythologies lies not in the nature of gods but in how they are presented. In polytheistic mythology the gods are seen as the results of long-term interactions among gods.

monotheistic religions

There were twelve Olympian Gods in ancient Greece. Demeter (Apollo), Apollo, and Artemis are other gods. Each of them served a purpose, including the provision of sustenance. A few were excluded, though, such as Hades, who lived in the underworld.

Morality

There are many differences between monotheistic society and polytheistic society in terms of their moral views. Monotheism tends favor absolute values. However, polytheism allows the possibility of relative morality. While the approaches may be very different, both emphasise individual responsibility.

Monotheistic systems usually elevate one god to a supreme role. Then, they consider the other gods to be manifestations of their supreme God. They are thus essentially monotheistic.

Religion

Two different religions are monotheism and multitheism. Monotheists believe in one, single, divine creator. Polytheists believe in multiple deities. Each approach is right but they differ on what constitutes a religion.

Polytheism was the source of monotheism. However, it is not clear why. The rise of monotheism has been attributed to one of two processes by modern philosophers of religion.
